Now you can connect virtually any USB ready computer or audio device through the system's convenient USB port and hear your favorite music files come alive, enhanced by the extraordinary, full-spectrum natural acoustics of the fabulous wood cone speakers.
The solid wood cones provide an ideal combination of high sound propagation speed and sufficient internal loss, allowing the speakers to naturally reproduce a wide frequency range. With conventional paper cones, sound spreads at the same speed in all directions, causing unnatural resonant points with limited frequency response. Wood cones produce few resonant points because of the grain, so frequency response is improved and sound quality is significantly enhanced. JVC engineers tried several types of wood, but birch proved to have the best acoustic properties, delivering sound quality that's more like listening to a prized musical instrument than to conventional speakers.
But beautiful, natural sound is only the beginning of a comprehensive set of features that makes this small, powerful system stand out. The speakers are encased in a solid cherry-wood enclosure for superior acoustic performance. The 99-track programmable CD stereo plays all formats, including DVD Audio/Video, DVD-R/RW, CD, CD-R/RW, SVCD/VCD and MP3/JPEG/WMA files. Other features include progressive scan for optimal HDTV clarity and two-channel Dolby Digital/DTS decoding. Eighteen watts per channel are delivered by a JVC Hybrid Feedback Digital Amplifier, which eliminates noise often produced by digital amplifiers by using two feedback systems — one digital and one analog — to ensure the highest quality sound. A 192-kHz/24-bit audio D/A converter and 10-bit/54MHz video D/A converter is also featured for maximum quality.
This innovative new desktop music system features a sleek, brushed-aluminum base with an elegantly redesigned intuitive-use control panel that includes a display dimmer, sleep timer, electronic bass and treble tone controls as well as random and repeat program controls. Add further dimension to this system's sound with our Powered Subwoofer (SA251). Main unit is 6" x 6" x 9 3/4"; each speaker is 5" x 8 1/2" x 6 1/4". Plugs in with included AC adapter. Full-function remote control runs on 2 AA batteries (included). One-year parts, 90-day labor.
