Time Warner Inc.'s "Batman Begins," starring Christian Bale, premiered as the No. 1 movie in U.S. and Canadian theaters this weekend with an estimated $46.9 million in sales, the second-biggest opening in the five-film series.
"This movie is going to get great word of mouth," said James Rocchi, film critic for Netflix Inc. "It's something, like `Spider-Man,' that can bridge the gap between fans and non- fans.""Batman Begins," which opened on Wednesday, has brought in a total of $71.1 million in five days. It tells the story of young Bruce Wayne's search for a way to combat evil in Gotham City. The film co-stars Katie Holmes, Michael Caine, Morgan Freeman and Liam Neeson.
