Marianna Rashkovetsky: Brahms, Chopin, Grieg

June 12, 2005 10:22 PM EST | Music | Email to Friend | Comments (0)

Pianist Marianna Rashkovetsky plays Brahms, Chopin, and Grieg. The album opens with Brahms’s piano transcription of the Bach Chaconne for the left hand, an unusually difficult piece which is seldom performed. The concentrated and passionate Brahms Intermezzi opus 117 follows. She plays a sampling of the brilliant Chopin Etudes including the passionate and complex No. 7 and finishes the album with the infrequently played Grieg Piano Sonata opus 7 in E minor.
